A man declared himself guilty of murdering a woman in his pleasant home in Christchurch.
Elliott Cameron appeared to the Christchurch Superior Court on Friday, where he admitted to killing Frances Anne Phelps, 83, last October.
It can now be revealed that Cameron was a patient at Hillmorton Hospital.
More details about what happened remain suppressed.
Cameron will be convicted in June.
