Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, Pat Cummins, admits that his team has not had the ideal beginning for his Premier League campaign in India (IPL) after a third consecutive defeat.
Hyderabad collapsed to a record of 1-3 wins in loss of loss after Kolkata Knight Riders recorded a victory of 80 races in Eden Gardens.
Kolkata, the current IPL champion, made 6-200 with the bat, before saying goodbye to Hyderabad for 120 in 17.
“It’s not a great night,” Cummins said after the game.
“You have to be realistic. They are three games in a row, it has not come out for us, but only a couple of weeks ago we got 280 -odd.
“Our batters are at our best, but you must think if you could take different options.
“We will not stop at that too long. It is a long tournament, not the ideal beginning, but we still have a lot of time to catch up.”
After having chosen the field after winning the raffle, it all started well enough for Cummins when he made Kock Quinton caught in the depth in his first more for 1.
Kock’s opening partner, Sunil Narine, was captured at the other end by Mohammed Shami by 7.
The Sunrisers seemed to be able to restrict the local team to a manageable total, despite an excellent 50 of 32 Angkrish Raguvanshi balls, since Kolkata could only reach 4-122 of 15 overs.
