Residents of the UK will be able to see the first partial solar eclipse of 2025 over the weekend, in an astronomical event that will also convey parts of the US, Europe and Africa.
About a third of the sun will be covered in the UK, with a coverage of 40 percent in the north of Scotland and Northern Ireland, and the moon covering more than 90 percent of the sun in North America.
The Royal Astronomical Society said that the eclipse ‘is still really dangerous to look at’, and that it should not be seen with the naked eye.
