Director Oliver Stone on Tuesday called on Congress to open the investigation into the murder of President John F. Kennedy.
Stone testifies to the House of Working Group to declassify federal secrets when recently declassified records of the Kennedy Murder Investigation.
Stone headed for the central intelligence agency, calling it a tax -funded agency, which “arrogantly believes it is beyond our laws” and that “nothing to relevant has been revealed by the CIA all these years.”
He asked, “Can we return to a world where our government can equalize with us” and tell the truth?
Stone’s 1991 film JFK focuses on the work of New Orleans District Prosecutor Jim Garrison, who conducted an independent investigation into the murder, which led to his unsuccessful prosecution of New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw, which Garison claims to have been involved in CIA Conspression. The film was commercial and critical success, winning $ 205 million and winning two Oscar awards. The film has been credited to promote conspiracy theories about the FBI and CIA’s involvement in the murder of Kennedy.
The film was credited by the Council for the Review of Murder Records as at least partly responsible for the adoption of the President John F. Kennedy’s murder law of the 1992, Stone, testified to the Congress in support of the bill.
