Seoul, South Korea – The powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Wednesday was mocked by Washington and his Asian allies for what she called their “dream” of denuclearization of the North, insisting that the country would never give up its nuclear weapon program.
Kim Yo Yong’s statement, one of the best employees of the country’s foreign policy, was in response to a meeting last week between the best diplomats in the United States, South Korea and Japan, where they confirmed their commitment to demand the denuclearization of the North.
Noting that North Korea’s goals for the expansion of nuclear weapons are enshrined in its constitution, she insisted that any external discussions for denuclearization represent the “most congratulatory act” and represent the denial of the sovereignty of its side.
“If the US and its vassal forces continue to insist on anachronic” denuclearization “… this will only give unlimited justice and justification for the advancement of the DPRK, which seeks after the construction of the strongest nuclear power for self-defense,” she said in the comments of the state, using the initials of the official name North Korea’s nuclear weapons “can never be reversed by any physical force or cunning art.”
Tensions in the regions have increased as Kim Jong Un continues to parade with his military nuclear capabilities and to align with Russia over the war of President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine. Kim neglects calls from Seoul and Washington to resume denuclearization talks.
US President Donald Trump has said he will re -contact Kim to revive diplomacy, but the North has not responded to this proposal. Trump and Kim met three times during Trump’s first term, but their diplomacy quickly collapsed because of disagreements regarding the termination of sanctions led by the US in exchange for North Korea by taking steps to remove its nuclear and missile programs.
Kim’s foreign policy is already Russia, which he delivered with weapons and troops to help extend his military struggles in Ukraine. Seoul fears that Kim can obtain economic assistance and advanced technology to develop his arsenal in exchange for his military support for Russia.
Kim Yo Yong’s statement came a day after South Korea launched warning shots to repel a group of soldiers in North Korea who crossed the border. The joint chiefs of South Korea have said that about 10 North Korean soldiers, some supporting weapons, violate the military demarcation line in the eastern border. When South Korea issued warnings and fired warning shots, they did not return fire and returned to North Korea.
It was unclear immediately whether the post of President Han Duck SU discussed the nuclear threat in North Korea with US President Donald Trump during a telephone conversation on Tuesday.
Trump said in a social media publication that the two leaders are discussing the tariffs, trade and paying Seoul about what he called the military defense of the “great time” the United States provided to South Korea. In Seoul, there are fears that Trump may encourage South Korea to pay significantly more than the cost of about 28,000 US troops located in the country.
