No one will be fired at a national security errors that a journalist mistakenly added to a signal talk group discussing planned strikes about Yemen, US President Donald Trump said.
This week it was revealed that national security adviser Michael Waltz accidentally added editor-in-chief of Atlantic Ocean Jeffrey Goldberg to a group conversation with senior members of the Trump administration Book plans to stop wooden -militants earlier this month.

Mr. Trump said he still has confidence in Mr. Waltz and the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, who was also in the signal conversation and sent a detailed timeline of the planned strikes before this happened.
The president added: ‘I think it’s just a witch hunt and the false news, like you, talk about it all the time, but it’s just a witch hunt, and there’s not to talk [about].
“We had a tremendously successful strike. We hit very hard and very deadly. And no one wants to talk about it. All they want to talk about is nonsense. This is fake news. ‘
Mr. Trump’s remarks come amid calls – also from his allies – to fire Mr Waltz after Mr. Goldberg wrote on Monday that he was added to a chat group on a private messaging app.
The Trump administration has since repeatedly claimed that the Yemen plans were not classified.
“I have no idea what signal is. I don’t care what the signal is,” Trump said.
“All I can tell you is that it’s just a witch hunt, and that’s the only thing the press wants to talk about, because you have nothing else to talk about. Because it was the largest 100-day presidency in the history of our country. ‘

During the telephone interview with NBC News, Mr. Trump also discusses his dedication to annexing Greenland – which is currently a semi -autonomous Danish area – and repeats that a military option was not off the table.

He said there is a “good possibility that we can do it without military violence”, but added: “I don’t take anything off the table.”
Friday, Vice President JD Vance visited Greenland Speaking to his wife, Usha, and talking to service members at Pituffik Space Base, an American spacesmen base on the northwestern coast.
Mr Vance said: “Our message to Denmark is very simple – you have not done a good job by the people of Greenland.”
When asked what messages to the acquisition of Greenland would send to Russia and the rest of the world, Mr. Trump said: ‘I don’t really think about it. I don’t really care. Greenland is a very separate topic, quite different. It is international peace. It is international safety and power.
‘You have ships sailing outside Greenland from Russia, from China and some of many other places. And we will not allow things to happen – which will injure the world or the United States. ‘
