After a back-to-back home domination, Spitfires missed six regulars in a playoff game against Sault Ste on Monday. Mary Greyhound.

“It’s very unrealistic to think we’ll be in the playoffs 16-0 in the playoffs,” said Spitfires defensive player Carson Woodall. “We believe in everyone and the coach here. Everything is here and we have the most confidence.”

Tinas Mathurin, Ethan Belchetz, JC Lemieux and Tanner Winegard have not yet participated in the series due to injuries, while experienced Owen Outwater was lost in the December season. Spitfires couldn’t rest during Monday’s game. Woodall first brought Windsor to the board, and teammate Cole Davis seemed to raise that lead to 2-0 in just 28 seconds.

However, after video comments, referees Drew Jackson and Damian Figueira ruled that Davis had kicked a hockey puck when dragged to the ice by Sault’s David Holub, who was fined during the game.

“Not for me,” Walters said when asked if there was a kick. “When he fell down the puck, he was knocked down, and I don’t think there was a kick.”

Windsor used a two-goal lead in the first two games of the series to achieve an unbalanced victory.

“If we get a few more calls, it’s going to be another game,” Greentree said. “If Davis’s goal is important, it’s a completely different game.”

The Greyhound played a more conservative game on Monday and sat down defensively, trapping and attempting to slow down Windsor’s offense.

Justin Cloutier pulled the Greyhound even in the second stage goal, and Travis Hayes scored in the Greyhound’s power game just five minutes later in the third stage. Mary’s first lead in the series.

Greentree’s one-time shot tethered the game to the game with 21 seconds remaining as goalkeeper Joey Costanzo made an extra attacker on the bench.

“We didn’t get the results we wanted, but we found a way to fight and achieve the target of tying,” Greentree said.

Killed so many free throws in overtime, Noah Morneau almost won, but his shot stood out from the post office just minutes before the Racing Dogs won with Caeden Carlisle.

“We played a great game and I’m really proud of them,” Walters said. Walters wasn’t sure if any injured would come back for the fourth game. “We shot one shot. With our players, we have a lot of people walking a lot of balls, we have a lot of people winning, it’s hockey.”

The fourth game of the series is on Wednesday at Sault Ste. Marie’s series is now guaranteed to be played in Game 5 at the WFCU Center on Friday.
