A woman from Obani pleaded guilty on Tuesday for sending drugs soaked in drugs to prisoners in correctional establishments in New York, according to federal prosecutors.
Authorities said that 33 -year -old Maya Makintosh had sold illegal documents on social media – and concealed them as legal documentation when he sent them.
33 -year -old Makintosh has pleaded guilty to “conspiracies for production, distribution and possession with the intention of spreading a controlled substance and analogue of a controlled substance, distribution and possession with the intention of distributing a controlled substance and analogue with a controlled substance, and indifferent possession and use of a means of identification on Tuesday.
Officials said Makintosh had ordered chemicals used to create MDMB-4en-Pinaca, synthetic cannabinoid, in liquid form and then “sprayed and soaked the liquid on copy and business bags,” the law firm said.

The documents were placed in US priority mail express envelopes and addressed to prisoners in various corrective facilities in New York, prosecutors said.
Makintosh concealed the envelopes as a legal mail, “sealing the names of the actual lawyers in the part for returning the envelopes address” without the knowledge or permission of the lawyers, according to prosecutors.
This method made it possible that drug -soaked documents should look as if they were sent by lawyers and “contain legal legal documentation instead of a controlled substance,” the US prosecutor’s office said.
Officials said Makintosh used social media to sell sheets and envelopes, with customers paying her to send prisoners’ documents to the correctional facilities, prosecutors said.
Makintosh is believed to have sent drug -soaked documents between January 2023 to July 2024, prosecutors said.
Makintosh is confronted with up to 20 years imprisonment in each piece, a maximum fine of $ 1 million for the number of drugs, a $ 250,000 fine for other counts and a controlled release period of at least three years and life, the US prosecutor’s office said.
The US Postal Inspection Service and internal security investigations continue to investigate the case.
