The web page of the National Park Service for the underground railway line has been restored to its original country months after it has been changed to remove the leader of the abolition of the cancellation Harriet Tubman from the top of the page.
“What is the underground rail line?” Page presented a photo of and quote from Tubman as the leading elements of the page, followed by a text explaining the historical meaning of the underground railway line in the history of Afro -American. The page was changed to remove Tubman in early February for data from the Waitbaid machine, replacing the image with an underground railway collage of commemorative stamps that emphasize “black/white cooperation”.
The change also removed Tubman’s quote and changed the text to launch the underground railway as a bridge for “dividing race, religion, differences in the section and nationality”, not “resistance to enslavement and flight”.
The mentions of the Law on the Robbers of 1850 were also deleted before the restoration, along with historical maps of the enslaved peoples, who were fighting for the freedom and murals of the 54th Infantry Regiment in Massachusetts, the first Black Regiment, made up of the north. Since then, all these elements have been added back to their original conditions.

Bernis King, the daughter of Martin Luther King, Jr., claims that the removal is an “attack on the truth, an attempt to delete history that will help us improve society today, refusing to be uncomfortable and engaged in changing harmful policies and practices.”

An investigation by Washington Post, published on Friday, indicated these changes and others from the NP. Its analysis of thousands of web pages of NPS has found several changes in the language to rebrand racially loaded moments in American history or to remove references to slavery entirely.
The Benjamin Franklin views page of slavery has been downloaded and some mentions of prominent figures such as Thomas Stone, possessing enslaved people, have been missed.
This is against the backdrop of a greater impetus against initiatives for diversity, justice and inclusion by the Trump administration and efforts to clear the DEI from government web pages.
Last month, the Ministry of Defense said it “wrongly removed” Jackie Robinson’s army service, as well as other content, including a page that honors the 60th anniversary of US troops, in its efforts to remove DEI from its sites.
Actress Viola Davis, who is ready to play Tubman on a wicked HBO Biopic, entered Instagram on Monday to share a comment on the situation, saying that the edits were “belittling Harriet Tubman and slavery”.
