A criminology student who killed one woman and tried to kill another on a beach in Bournemouth was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 39 years.

Nasen Saadi, 20, of Croydon, stabbed personal coach Amie Gray, 34, 34, as she sat next to a fire on Durley Chine Beach in Dorset on the evening of May 24.

Her friend Leanne Miles, who was sitting next to her on the beach, sustained 20 knife injuries, but the attack survived.

During the hearing, the Jurie showed CCTV footage. According to the prosecution, Saadi showed that he was running along the beach promenade.

They also heard a CCTV sound recording of screaming and a male voice around 11.39 hours – the time of the attack.

A recording of a 999 call made by Ms Miles was played to the court in which she heard she was crying from pain.

The 39-year-old told the operator: “I have been stabbed to death many times. Oh my God, I get dizzy, hurry, please hurry.”

She continues: “I bleed everywhere, I have been stabbed many times.”

The defendant, who chose not to give evidence, acknowledged that he visited Bournemouth, but denied the offenses.

He told police he may have “obscured” and had no reminder of the period that included the attacks.

In a police interview shown in court, Saadi said: “I am not responsible and I have no reason to attack anyone for no reason.”

Saadi pleaded guilty for not providing his cellphone code to police.
