A fire that destroyed more than a dozen Tesla -electric vehicles at a dealer on the outskirts of Rome is being investigated as a possible arson.
The fire, which started early Monday, severely damaged or destroyed 17 cars.
Tesla Italy said it was working with the police, and that it had transferred supervision video from the vehicles themselves.
The cars’ internal video even works when they’re away.
Tesla was the target of protests around the world against owner Elon Musk’s connection to the Trump administration.
Protesters swarmed a Tesla showroom in San Francisco on Saturday as part of global protests aimed at Tesla dealers.
Crowds, ranging from dozens to hundreds, blocked Tesla locations across the US in an effort to surround all 277 of the showrooms and service centers of the car manufacturer.
Prosecutors in Colorado charged a woman last month in connection with attacks on Tesla dealers, including Molotov cocktails thrown on vehicles and the words “Nazi cars” painted on a building. In Florida, it seemed as if footage of a Tesla camera trapped a man in Florida who damaged the electric vehicle with a sharp object.
Drivers also turn away from Tesla. Data from the Australian Electric Vehicle Council shows a 35 percent drop in Tesla sales in the four months after Trump’s election compared to the same period the previous year.
European sales of Tesla vehicles tumbled by 49 percent in the first two months of the year, even as total sales of EVs grew.
However, Tesla sales are declining worldwide.
In January, the company placed its first annual sales lending in more than a dozen years.
Tesla’s new Cybertruck had several memories, including last week, when the company remembers almost everyone, because panels running on the left and right side of the windshield can fly as it rides.
