Mitchell Starc has starred in the ball for Delhi Capitals in his seven Wickt victory over a Sunrisers Hyderabad team led by Pat Cummins in Indian Premier League (IPL).

STARC dismantled the superior order of the normally formidable batting alignment of Sunrisers, dismissing through Travis Head (22) between a trio of early Wickts in Visakhapatnam.

Then he returned to mop the tail and fire Sunrisers for 163, claiming his first tour of five Wickt (5-35) in the IPL.

The Victorian Jake Fraser-McGurk made 38 of 32 balls when Delhi pursued the target with four oversted overs.

Starc now has eight wickts in two games for its new IPL team.

He joined Delhi after being released by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), despite being a game player when he took 2-14 for KKR in the final of last year against Sunrisers.

“It has been a good day,” said Starc.

“At all times, we were fantastic. I have played enough time, so I know what to do.

“You have to think out of the box, even as an older player you have to play with different balls.”

Hyderabad chose to hit first, but lost Abhishek Sharma (1) due to exhaustion after a confusion with his head.

Starc then stepped forward and reduced Hyderabad to 4-37 in 4.1 overs, with his head, trapped by KL Rahul, the third of his Wickets.

It was the sixth time that Starc had fired in the head in eight T20 tickets at a cost of 34 races.

Cummins could only do 2, caught by Fraser-McGurk in the Kuldeep Yadav bowling.

Later, Starc finished Hyderabad in the 19th with the Harshal Patel (5) and Wiaan Mulder (9).

In response, Fraser-McGurk and FAF du plessis (50 of 27) were 81 in nine overs and although Zeehan Ansari (3-42) dismissed so much in the tenth, Delhi reached victory.

Cummins returned the figures of 0-27 of two overs.
