Michigan officials found a missing two-year-old alive and well in a freezing chill ditch with a helicopter and a heat-seeking camera.

The Blackman Leoni Department of Public Safety responded to a call about the child in Blackman Township, about 77 miles west of Detroit, on Sunday.

The boy was last seen in the living room at about 20.43 hours and his carers missing him about an hour later.

Several units responded to the search for the child, including the Blackman Leoni K-9 unit, the Michigan State Police K-9 unit and an MSP helicopter.

Officials and community members combed for almost two hours through the area. A break in the case came around 11.33 hours when a tropper using the heat technology, found the child in a ditch, curled up and just wearing a diaper.

According to police, the child is cold but alert and aware.

Emergencies transported him to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital for evaluation and he was determined to be in good condition.

Police have appointed the use of technology as an important factor in the child’s recovery. The tropper uses it only 15 minutes before it was located.

The herd of land units then directed where the child was. Footage released by the department shows that officers comfort the child while waiting for medical experts.
