Mediator Vince Ready called in to solve Kootenay ferry labour dispute

Both the British Columbia Employees Union and the Western Pacific Marine Corps (Western Pacific Marine Corps) operate inland ferries for the BC Department of Transportation, they welcome the appointment and will work with the preparation of solutions. The employer reiterated that it prefers binding arbitration but agreed to the union’s special mediator request.
