Max Verstappen has won the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix, stopping McLaren’s by Lando Norris and Oscar Piasstri, who end second and third.
The four -time defender champion of Formula 1, Verstappen, began from the pole position after establishing a record time of the course in the classification, which he called “crazy.”
Piastri and Norris pushed Verstappen, who led from beginning to end in a relatively boring race with limited overtaking.
However, Piastri’s birthday felt that he could have chased the Red Bull driver given the upper speed of McLaren, asking his team for the opportunity to chase the Red Bull driver upon receiving the position for the team.
“If Lando is still saving, I think I should go soon. I think I have the rhythm of getting Max,” he said on the radio of the team when the turns were exhausted.
However, McLaren said Norris should keep the position.
“There was not much [discussion]”Piatri got.
“I felt that I had a really strong rhythm, if I had a track position, I could go to get Max, but that is what happens when you describe back.
“At least I asked the question and I thought it was a fair answer.”
However, that was not the last of Piesti’s comments on the tactics of the team, the young Australian made a pointed reference to the confusing decisions that are made, particularly around the stops in boxes, since it was the first of the front corridors for the well.
“Great question,” he said.
“I think for me he was trying to cover the boys, he was starting to fight a little in the middle.
“That was a bit the thought there, I will talk to the team about what was his plan with him.”
Verstappen’s victory ended with his “mini-lump” of only two victories in his previous 16 races.
It was the fourth consecutive victory of the Dutch pilot in the Suzuka circuit and breaks the impulse of the Norris and Piastri McLarens, who won the first two races of the season in Melbourne and Shanghai.
The track was dry despite the rain earlier in the day.
Norris leads the driver classification after three races with 62 points to 61 for Verstappen.
