TORONTO – Auston Matthews scored twice in the power play and added assists as Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Calgary Flames 6-2 on Monday.
William Nylander added goals and two assists for Toronto (40-24-3), who lost five of his last six games.
Nick Robertson and Bobby McMann aimed at goals and assists. Joseph Woll made 23 saves. Mitch Marner and Oliver Ekman-Larsson made two assists respectively.
Toronto opened four games with a 4-4 score in back-to-back losses, ending a perfect 3-3 with a 4-4 advantage.
Rasmus Andersson and Kevin Bahl answered Calgary (30-25-11), in the battle on the second universal card of the Western Conference. Dustin Wolf allowed five goals out of 26 goals before he could start the third stage. Dan Vladar relaxed twice.

Matthews’s 3-1 lead at the end of the second phase had already led 3-1 when he shot on the Wolf stairs. The Toronto captain then added his 26th goal of the season, ranking third in two games and scored just three in his previous 16 games.
