Married couple jailed for raping 15-year-old girl after house party

A husband and a wife have been imprisoned for raping a 15 -year -old girl after a party at the couple’s house.

Christopher Luke Hili and Lee Kathleen Hili declared themselves innocent in 2024 in the Supreme Court of Queensland for two positions of rape, a position to expose a child to an indecent act and another to expose a child to an indecent film.

They remained at the dock when the jury found them guilty in all charges in April 2024 after deliberating for approximately two hours after a five -day trial.

The couple was sentenced in the Supreme Court in Brisbane today after spending almost a year in custody after guilt verdicts.

Judge Paul Freeburn sentenced Christopher Hili to seven years in prison and Lee Hili six years.

During the trial, the victim’s testimony was previously registered and shown in a closed court and no medical or forensic DNA tests were presented.

The prosecutor of the crown, Melissa Wilson, said during the trial that the girl had attended an afternoon party in the property of 12 hectares of Hilis in the Gold Coast region in December 2021.

“Christopher Hili shot a cannabis joint and offered it to (the girls) and smoked it,” Wilson said.

She said the girl also consumed alcohol, making her vomit and be taken down to bed.

The prosecutor said the girl was taken down by the Hilis and thought she was taken to her friend, but instead she was taken to the couple’s room.

The girl said she passed out when Christopher Hili began to touch her and then woke up naked while the couple assaulted sexually while a pornographic film was playing on a television on the bedroom.

Lee Hili chose to take the witness position in her defense and denied having assaulted the girl or had been present while she was attacked.

She will be eligible for probation since September 30, 2025 and Christopher Hili will be eligible for probation as of March 31, 2026 after both of them 346 days in custody prior to the sentence.
