After the Senators lowered their lead to 4-2, Morgan Rielly registered his first playoff goal to restore Leaf’s three-goal advantage.
Anthony Stolarz won 31 saves for Leafs, while Linus Ullmark allowed six goals out of 24 goals.
Toronto scored three goals in his home game, surpassing last year’s series against the Boston Bruins in Scotiabank Arena.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled to be played on SportsNet and SportsNet+ on Tuesday at 7:30 PM ET.
