Police is hunting at least one gunman this morning for the death of a 65 -year -old woman in southwest Sydney.
The events began at 11 pm yesterday when emergency services were called to a house in Dickens Road in Ambarvale about the reports of a shooting inside.
Police found that a 65 -year -old woman had suffered a gunshot wound in her leg after the occupants of an unknown vehicle shot several times at home before driving.
The paramedics worked for about an hour trying to save her, but she died on the scene.
Two other people, a 34 -year -old man and a 21 -year -old woman were also at home at that time, but were not injured.
Shortly after the area was closed and the area flooded from the police when an investigation began.
The relatives of the victim who arrived at the house were interviewed by detectives.
Police have confirmed that there is no continuous threat to the public this morning.
