Two nearby swimmers had immersed themselves in the water to help the woman.

It was treated by paramedics by injuries at the bottom of the legs and taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital with a suspicious broken ankle, bruises, abrasions and shock.

“There is no visibility of the car in the port,” said Frnsw Superintendent Adam Dewberry.

It is believed that the car is up to 10 meters under water.

Dewberry said there were serious concerns for the missing man.

“We cannot find the car at this time because it is very deep, and the information we have is that it has floated in the waves,” he said.

“I was drinking water quickly.”

Police divers explore the bottom of the port for the vehicle.

With the light that fades quickly, Dewberry said the car would probably recover tomorrow.
