Police dogs were highlighted to Mornington’s suburb, Dunedin, after a allegedly drunk man collided with several cars parked in the area before fleeing to the bushes.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond of Dunedin said police were called to Mornington at 8:15 pm on Sunday after a supposedly drunk man hit his Volkswagon on several car parked along Whitby St.
The vehicle was located shortly thereafter, in Alva St, where a 35 -year -old man who corresponded to the description given by an informant was also located, with the help of police dogs, SNR Sgt Bond said.
He was invited to undergo breathing test procedures, however, he refused.
The man also refused to undergo a blood test.
He was accused of driving carelessly, refusing a blood sample and stopping to check injuries.
He would attend Dunedin District Court on March 20.
On Saturday, at 12 noon, the police were called upon a man driving irregularly throughout George St.
Police stopped the 20 -year -old and found that he was forbidden to drive.
He refused to undergo breathing and elected tests to a blood sample.
The man was arrested for violating the bail conditions and the police were waiting for the blood sample results.
He would appear in court later.
At the beginning of 10:40 pm, the police were called to an accident outside the new Mosgiel in Hartston Ave.
A 80 -year -old woman was leaving the supermarket parking lot directly on the way to an 18 -year -old boy driving down the street.
No alcohol was involved and the 80 -year -old woman was taken to the hospital because she was not feeling well, said Snr Sgt Bond.
On Friday, police were called to Forbury RD, South Dunedin, at 3 pm, after a 44-year-old man collided with another vehicle.
He was turning into Macandrew RD when the last minute changed his mind and returned to Forbury RD.
In doing so, he collided with another vehicle, said Snr Sgt Bond.
No one was injured in the accident.
