A 54-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after three people, including a four-year-old girl, died in a fire in Northamptonshire.

A 30-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man died with the four-year-old girl after a Blaze at a former station house In the town of Rushton, near heresy, Friday night, police in Northamptonshire said.

In a statement on Sunday afternoon, chief inspector Paul Cash said: “We know that this incident has caused significant distress locally and that our officers will remain in the area to provide reassurance and help where we can.

“With regard to this investigation, one arrest was made, and we will provide updates on this as soon as possible.

“This investigation is well underway, but remains in the early stage, and it will take time to fully determine what happened.”

Northamptonshire police said earlier that three police officers needed the hospital assessment due to smoke inhalation.

Photos show a big hole burned down by the roof of the building-a 19th-century former station master’s home at the now closed Glendon and Rushton Railway Station.

According to the Historic England website, it is a building with a grade II list and is now believed to be a residential property.

Train services between London St Pancras International and Corby, Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield were disrupted after the fire on Saturday.

According to the National Rail website, the disruption is due to damage to a railway line.
