Mac has reformulated the studio fix powder, and it’s so much better

I was pleasantly surprised to discover a lot of skin-enhancing ingredients in Mac’s new studio Fix powder formula, including algae, seaweed and rose extracts, which promises to revive, soothe and tighten the skin (though I need longer to test these demands).

To back up its claims of 24-hour glossy control, the powder also uses silica and kaolin clay to pick up oil as it is produced. Meanwhile, coconut and chamomile-derived moisturizers (you can see it as a draftsman of triglyceride and bisabolol on the ingredients list) are on hand for hydration-so that you are not left with a crayon or flour finish.

As for the packaging, I was glad to learn that the plastic outdoor can now be refilled (with the powder that jumps out easily when you hit pan), and I welcome the return of the old lift-up sponge compartment.

As someone who previously used powder as a supplement (about my liquid foundation), I was intrigued to test this reformulated product as an independent facial base. Granted, I’m skeptical about powdering foundations because it can be cake -like and dry, but Mac’s Studio Fix 2.0 promised to end the trend. From the first whip (using the enclosed sponge), this formula provided a great cover, and as I continued to spread it around my face, I was awe for how easily it mixed. The whole process took me less than a minute and a half and made my skin look smooth, seamless and healthy.

I saw no problems with separation or dry spots when I lay with my usual bronzer and blusher, and I loved the finished look. My complexion looked glowing, fading with any reds, and the feeling of the powder was completely weightless.

After a few hours of wear, I saw a touch of extra glow around my T-zone, so I’m not sure if I would testify to the claims of 24-hour glossy control. However, versus a liquid Radiance foundation, however, certainly did the powder better. It goes directly into my make -up bag.

Not everyone likes a dull finish, especially if your skin is on the oily side-something that can definitely be a problem in the middle of life, like hormones everywhere. However, my personal preference is not for powders – I would like to look a little glowing – but I am always eager to find one that exceeds my expectations.

I found that the Mac powder offers a build-up, fading-matte finish, and although the smooth, black compact is with an integral sponge, I chose to apply the powder fundament with a brush. I think maybe the sponge is more for top-ups on the way and for that reason very useful. I used soft livestock with my brush to pick up the powdery mixture, and note that it felt almost butter -like when I buffered it in my skin. I swept and buffered until my complexion was covered on a light level that I felt happy with.

Eventually, if you prefer dew skin (like me), I would suggest that this one is not for you, but I can easily recommend it as a powder that will make you look softer without making it feel dry. The formula did not sunk in lines or pores and gave an overall light faded effect that made my skin look super soft. Up to the run, my skin feels hydrated, but there is no sign of the deadly glaze I prefer.

The first Mac product I bought was Studio Fix Powder. As an oily and acne-prone black teenager who struggled to find a foundation shadow that fits my skin color, I need a product that keeps my glamorous. Mac Studio Fix Powder was always my saving grace as an inclusive powder.

Make -up artists and experts praised TALC as the key to a matte finish, so I was nervous about reformulation. But again, the formula has come out for me-even now that it’s talk-free. I have tried many purple powders over the years, and I have returned to Studio Fix again and again.

As usual, I draw my skincare and make-up brows, SPF, foundation and blush (in that order) and then continue to powder my T-zone with the Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Fondament. I love that I can take the pers powder with me for the best when I’m on my way, and make sure I am glossy in the places I want to be and that my make -up is Dawn until dusk.
