The Palm Beach Touch Football Club will receive an important update thanks to a financing commitment of $ 720,000 of a future Dutton LNP government. Announced on April 6, the promise will be allocated to a new club house in the Mallawa sports fields.

Deputy vice president of the opposition, honor Susan Law MP, visited Palm Beach together with the LNP candidate for McPherson, Leon Rebello, to announce the plan.

The growing touch soccer community in Palm Beach has asked for a long time for better facilities. This financing commitment will ensure that the club can meet the needs of its expanding and diverse membership. The project will also support volunteers, coaches and spectators, improving the general sports experience for all involved.

“Palm Beach Touch Football Players and Milistas deserves facilities equal to the rest of Gold Coast,” said Mrs. Law. “These updates will ensure that Mallawa sports fields remain a safe, inclusive and high quality space for local sport to prosper.”

The redevelopment of the Casa Club will include modern bathrooms, Unisex bathrooms, a medical and first aid room dedicated, an education and training center, and a new recovery space. These updates aim to create an inclusive and cozy environment for all players and families.

The LNP candidate, Leon Rebello, confirmed that the decision was promoted by the comments of the local sports community. “I have received strong comments from Palm Beach Touch Footy players about the need to improve current facilities,” he said.

“The current Club House is outdated and no longer meets the needs of a growing and diverse membership. This financing will offer modern facilities that support players, volunteers and spectators.”

Rebello added: “I am struggling to deliver these essential improvements for the Palm Beach Touch football club and the broader community. Help me to make it a reality when choosing a Dutton LNP government that invests in base sports and supports local families.”

  • $ 720,000 promised to build a new club house in Mallawa Sports Fields.

  • 1 Medical and First Aid Room, more dedicated training and recovery spaces, included in the plans.

  • More than 1,000 local members and families to benefit from improved facilities.

Mallawa sports fields are a central center for sport in Palm Beach, organizing hundreds of games and training sessions every year. The new Casa Club will not only serve the Touch Football Club, but will also strengthen the ability of the place to organize community events, training programs and inclusive sports activities.

This announcement is part of the broader impulse of the LNP to invest in base sport and strengthen local communities. By supporting the local infrastructure and the projects promoted by the community, the party aims to revitalize the facilities in Gold Coast and beyond.
