Liberal Pollock slams Poilievre’s silence on offensive flags at Windsor rally

Liberal candidate Richard Pollock begged conservative Pierre Poilievre to break his silence and waved blasphemy signs outside the party leader’s highly-watched warehouse rally in Windsor on Friday night.

“A man who wants to be prime minister is not standing in the face of this trash,” Pollock told the Star Saturday morning.

The Windsor West candidate claims to have multiple large flags, including some of the read “F *** Carney”, which are prominently displayed outside and visible to the large crowds entering the venue.

“Don’t mess with my prime minister,” Pollock said.

“In my opinion, leaders are judged by their work. They are judged by what they do not do. To let him drive these flags, knowing that these blasphemous flags welcome conservatives into the lecture hall. – I find it offensive.

“We are in an economic war and Windsor is ground zero. We need to send a message of solidarity to Donald Trump, not disunity. It doesn’t matter who you vote for.”

With the April 28 election just a few weeks ago, Poilievre held its first campaign in Windsor on Friday. Thousands of people gathered in a warehouse near Dodge Drive near Central Avenue to warmly welcome the Conservative leader.

For Al Teshuba, president of the local conservative cycling association, some suspicious flags should not undermine what he calls a high energy incident, which focuses on positive information.

“I can see liberals or all parties jealous of people,” Teshuba told The Star.

“So, don’t say ‘wow, look at the motivation, look at the enthusiasm, but try to point out one or two things that might distract the overall message.”

Behind the conservative leaders, he sent messages to conservative leaders about work protection, economic recovery, tax cuts and the fight against Trump’s tariffs. Many supporters in the crowd waved similar “change” signs.

Teshuba, who attended the rally, said the flag in question was flying out of a pickup truck parked in a nearby street. He said the information had nothing to do with the organized gathering itself.

“I would ignore any kind of negative rotation or distraction,” he said.

“What we saw last night was Windsor-Essex’s most historic political rally, and this momentum will bring us into the general election.”

When asked if Poilievre should condemn the blasphemous flag, Teshuba said: “I don’t know if the leaders even saw them.”

Pollock still believes that conservative leaders have a duty to condemn vulgar displays, which he claims sometimes appears on Poilievre’s campaign.

“How can you silently face our Prime Minister’s disrespect for our Prime Minister in the event you hosted?” Questioning Pollock.

He thinks these show the kind of angry remarks he saw during the U.S. election.

“This is the DNA of the magazine’s movement – Split and conquer,” Pollock said.
