Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc disqualified
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Lecler are both disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix in a disastrous blow for Ferrari.
The cars of both drivers failed after the race checks, with Hamilton’s sliding block under the minimum thickness, while the car of Leclerc was underweight.
Alpine’s Pierre Gasly is also disqualified for an underweight car.
This means that Hamilton and Lecler’s points for their sixth and fifth place – eight and 10 – are wiped out of their championship respectively.
The disqualification does not affect Hamilton’s Sprint Race victory on Saturday, for which he scored eight points.
