Lewis Hamilton insists that he “adapt” his management style while he wants to find his feet at Ferrari after a mixed Bahrain Grand Prix weekend.

The seven-time world champion, who struggled in the opening month of his Ferrari career, finished fifth on Sunday in the race-his best endpoint so far in 2025 other than his sprint in China.

It was an improved performance for Hamilton, who started ninth, with Ferrari showing promise with a strategy other than forerunners McLaren and Mercedes. However, they still had a short time compared to racing winner Oscar PiaTri.

Still, Hamilton still has only 25 points in his name and is already 52 points behind championship leader Lando Norris, who is heading to Race Five in Saudi Arabia next week.

“I think what it is clear, as people, we really get stuck in our ways,” Hamilton said when we were asked to adapt to his new team and car.

“I’ve been driving a certain style and away with the same team for a long time, a new car needs new systems … This car needs a different driving style, I adapt to it and come slowly.

“I was far from Charles [Leclerc] This past weekend and the weekend … I have to do a better job, I know I can and I will.

“I have to make it easier for myself, I’m doing it in the hard way right now. Will try to start in a better place next week, I think I found out how the car likes to drive.

“If I qualify better, I can have a much better weekend.”

However, Leclerc was more down when he missed a podium late in the 57-Round race.

“We just aren’t fast enough, it’s the summary,” he said.

“We don’t have the pace in the car, Mercedes was a little better in decline. The pace just wasn’t there, it’s very disappointing if you do everything well, but it’s P4.

“There is no regret, we have to find a little pace.”

F1 next time to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia for round five of the 2025 season and the final race in the Asian triple head.
