Labor has announced an offer of $ 644 million to open 50 more urgent attention clinics, based on the center of Anthony Albanese, $ 8.5 billion, promise of elections to increase GPS in bulk.
Saturday’s announcement will increase the number of urgent attention clinics from 87 to 137, with compilations planned in each state and territory.
The clinics are scheduled to open before July 1, 2026 and once delivered they will ensure that four out of five Australians live 20 minutes by car from a clinic, according to the Department of Health and Analysis of Añada Care.
NSW will obtain 14 new clinics, while Victoria and Queensland will obtain 12 and 10 new clinics respectively.
Western Australia will receive six clinics, with Tasmania and southern Australia obtaining three more.
The two territories, NT and the law, will obtain a new clinic each.

The prime minister said the last announcement was at the top of the “greater investment of work in Medicare in more than 40 years.”
“This announcement of 50 additional urgent attention clinics if we are re -elected will provide the urgent attention that people need, and everything you will need is your Medicare card, not your credit card,” he said.
“Whether your family needs urgent or continuous medical attention, under labor, Medicare will be there for all Australians, in each community.”
Health Minister Mark Butler said that only a re -elected Labor Government would guarantee that urgent care clinics remain open.
“The liberals were nine years to open Medicare urgent attention clinics, and never opened only one. Now they call the ‘unnecessary expenses’ work clinics and want to close each of them, ”he said.
“Medicare’s urgent care clinics are a government’s government initiative because we believe in Medicare and free, completely invoiced urgent care.”

While the coalition has promised to match the promise of Medicare of $ 8.5 billion of work, which would deliver 18 million additional GP visits to bulk every year, plus 400 nursing scholarships and more funds to train head doctors, Peter Dutton has also launched additional $ 500 million for mental health support.
The opposition has also promised to double the number of sessions of psychologists that Australians can claim under a mental health treatment plan from 10 to 20.
“The coalition recognizes the urgent need for better access to bulk invoiced services in the midst of the labor health crisis,” Dutton said.
“That is why a Dutton coalition government will coincide with the investment of $ 8.5 billion in dollars per dollar of Medicare to fix the worker’s disorder and restore bulk billing to coalition levels.”
