The King shared his personal playlist of tracks that bring him joy – with everything from reggae and Afrobeats to contemporary pop hits.
Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue and Grace Jones all appear on the leading tracks of the King of across the Commonwealth, along with Nigerian-American singer-songwriter Davido and Recent Brit Awards winner Raye.
King Charles his Apple Music Radiopogram, the King’s Music Room, included in his office in Buckingham Palace.
The show is named after one of the state rooms in the Royal Residence, in which a baby prince Charles was baptized in 1948.
The broadcast contains the monarch that shares anecdotes about meeting some of the artists, revealing that his chosen songs form the soundtrack in his life.
The King also discusses the impact that music has had on him, including how it helps to make happy memories and give comfort in sad times.
The announcement of the one -time show – which, according to Apple Music, also revealed, is a fan of ‘Crooners of the 1930s’ – the king said:’ During my life, music meant a lot to me. I know this is also the case for so many others.
‘It has a remarkable ability to bring happy memories that are flooded from the deepest extinction of our memory, to comfort us in sad times and to take us to distant places.
“But maybe it can, above all, lift our spirit to such an extent, and all the more so if it brings us to celebration of the celebration. In other words, it brings us joy. ‘
The King’s Music Room will be broadcast on Apple Music 1 on Monday, March 10 to mark the Commonwealth Day.
In a new photo released to celebrate the cooperation, the king can be seen during the recording at his desk in the palace with an illuminated “on air” sign next to him.
