Katy Perry made her promise to sing in space.
The singer ‘Fireworks’ on Monday with Jeff Bezos’ fiancé Lauren Sanchez and TV host Gayle King, the new Shepard NS-31 Art Craft.
In a video shared late Sunday via Instagram, Perry fans in the rocket showed that “we have been practicing for the past few days.”
She said to followers, ‘I think I’m going to sing, sing a little. I have to sing in space! ‘
After the rocket landed safely, King told her Cbsogening Colleagues who sang Perry “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.
Perry then told reporters of her song selection: “I have covered that song in the past and my higher myself is always sending the ship, because I had no idea that one day I would sing that song in space.”
Perry, Sanchez and King are also on the flight by former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerian Flynn.
The rocket lifted as part of Blue Origin Flight NS-31 at 08:30 local time. The crafts flew through space for about four minutes before drifting back to earth, with the entire journey lasting a little over ten minutes.
After the flight, King and Perry kissed the Western Texas Earth.
“I don’t really have words for it,” Sanchez said in an interview after the flight. She said they had to see the moon. “The earth looked, just as quiet.”
“Going to space is incredible and I wanted to model courage and dignity and fearlessness,” Perry said.
“It’s the highest highlight and it’s surrender to the unknown,” she added. “I couldn’t recommend this experience anymore.”

The journey represented the first female spaces mission in more than six decades.
Earlier on Sunday, Perry said she received “confirmation” that her trip aboard the rocket was written in the stars on April 14.
In a video posted on Instagram, she said she was “always looking for few confirmations of heaven, of my guides, of my angels, of my higher self.”
“When I was invited to get on this trip, I looked up the capsule. At the front of it, the outline is in the form of a feather and when I saw that it was like a total confirmation, because my mother had always called me feather, ‘she said.
‘And that’s why I’m in space training today and there’s a lot to digest. We are almost done with the day and they have shown the capsule to us and we have simulations in another capsule and tested the sound and what to expect and all these different things, and it reveals the name of the capsule.
“The name of the capsule is turtle.” A Wave, just the most energetic wave, just shot through my body. And I was like ‘what? The name of this capsule is turtle? ‘
“My mother calls me two nicknames. Feather and turtle. What are the chances of going on a rocket space in a capsule with my symbol, the feather, called turtle? “
She added: “There are no coincidences, and I am just so grateful for these confirmations and so grateful that I feel that something bigger than me is sending the ship.”
It was the 11th human flight for the Blue Origin program, which has brought passengers, including the company’s billionaire founder, Bezos, since 2021.
Sanchez said the mission is about inspiring others to ‘dream big’ and praised the women on board as ‘incredible storytellers’.
