Katherine Ryan reveals shock cancer diagnosis

Katherine Ryan has been diagnosed with skin cancer.

The 41 -year -old comedienne was first diagnosed with melanoma in her twenty years, but revealed on Friday (21.03.25) that the disease has arrived for the second time despite the fact that doctors initially tell her that everything was “totally well” when he raised concerns about a suspicious mole.

Speaking about his podcast of ‘telling everyone everything,’ he said: “I know you should never look for things in Google, but I’m really worried. I am usually that positive person

“I think it’s really easy to take a diagnosis of ‘You are healthy’ and get away.

“But the mole kept changing, I know a lot about melanoma, I had melanoma as a very young woman, 21, in my leg, I have talked about it before.

“It was flat, it was not so big, but it was melanoma. It is a deadly form of skin cancer and spreads quickly.

“I simply thought that this lunar was not right. It is on my arm. I showed photos on my social networks. I entered and wanted the doctor to eliminate it and sew it in a straight line.

“But even when he looked at him, he said: ‘It’s not melanoma, it’s totally well, I’ll make a shave and send it to the tests.

“And he called me today and returned as melanoma. Early melanoma. The doctor was surprised and told me he needed to come back.”

The star of ‘8 of 10 cats’ also worried what it could have been if it had not been his “own defender” and continued to seek medical advice.

She said: “It seems to me crazy, what could have happened, if it had not been my own defender, and I will continue to be my own defender.”

The star born in Canada previously opened about her first diagnosis and joked saying that moving to the United Kingdom had been “better” for her due to the lack of warm climate.

She told The Guardian: “I just joked that it was a free lipo. If you are prone to skin cancer, then living in the United Kingdom is the best you can do.”
