Corey Perry had a goal and assist, Connor McDavid had two assists, and the Edmonton Oilers beat Winnipeg 4-1 on Sunday night, hours after the Jets took the first presidential trophy to become the NHL regular season leader as the NHL regular season leader.
“Everyone knows our injury problem, and those who aren’t on the roster, we need to step up and everyone has a very solid game tonight,” Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch said after the victory.
“Whether it’s our first line or fourth line – all six defenses – Stu is obviously doing well, so it’s nice to see.”

Winnipeg – 55-22-4 remaining games – was awarded the Presidential Trophy when Washington lost to Columbus earlier Sunday. The Jets join Josh Morrissey, Adam Lowry, Neal Pionk and Luke Schenn to bring star goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck with the Oilers.
Edmonton won two points in the second place in the Pacific Division for the third straight first-round playoff rival Los Angeles. The Oilers and Kings will play in Edmonton on Monday night, while the Home-Ice Advantage has not been confirmed yet.
Connor Brown, Adam Henrique and Viktor Arvidsson also scored for Edmonton. Stuart Skinner missed eight games with a head injury, earning 17 saves in his first game.
“Just going to the end, I think everyone contributed; everyone performed well tonight,” Henrik said.
“We were stingy when we had to work and we knew they had a tough schedule – back-to-back and traveling. So just trying to keep the pace high and get our game to come to us and I think we did a great job tonight.”
