Toronto – Manager John Schneider is confident that the Toronto Blue Jays offense will surface from its early Funk.
The Blue Jays gave up their final two outings in the final two of their three games against the Cleveland Guardians due to lack of clutch batting.
Schneider’s roster left up to 25 players on the set of the series, including two defeats.
“It’s been a tough few games, actually three games,” Schneider said. His team won the opener 5-3 on Friday but scored the game with a 5-3 and 5-4 decision to fight the Guardian.
The Blue Jays have made particular efforts to score against the Guardian’s Power Bullpen on Saturday and Sunday. Their last 12 batsmen were retired by Order in the fifth inning.
The Blue Jays ranked third in the eighth and ninth innings Sunday. The eighth inning was particularly painful as Toronto won the runners in the second and third innings after Ernie Clement sacrificed his first game.

“You’re trying to scrape off the run there,” Schneider said. “You got a nice short team from Ern and we couldn’t do it with those who pop up.
“In this case, you will love the showdown and there will be a game that will be tough, especially with such a bullpen.
“Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t work. But you have to seize the opportunity.”
The Blue Jays also seized the opportunity very early. Bo Bichette led the first inning with doubles and was Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Santander took root first, and then Bichette fell into a failure between the third and home.
“I talked to Vlad, I talked to Bo,” Schneider said. “It’s a weird game. They’re likely to have two situations. I think the best result is Bo is third. But you try to score early and these things happen.”

Gold medal outfielder Daulton Varsho was given a series finale, giving his lower back a break.
Varsho missed the first 28 games after his right shoulder surgery in the offseason. He won five consecutive victories before taking a break.
“His back is a little nervous, and after what he’s been through, I haven’t taken any chances with him,” Schneider said.

The Blue Jays have not confirmed that they have signed veteran right-hand pitchers Spencer Turnbull and Jose Urena. But the report shows that the transaction has been completed and pending physical.
“Yes, yes, we have to figure this out right away before we hit (the plane),” Schneider replied when asked about his club’s six games against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.
