The National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Agency released its final rankings for this year’s draft on Tuesday.

Three players with Spitfires links were appointed in the mid-range rankings in January, but only Windsor’s first-round pick in the 2023 OHL Draft was appointed on the final list.

Among North American skaters, the six-foot-four-foot, 185-pound Nesbitt is ranked 15th, the mid-term ranking position.

“I haven’t really thought about it much,” the 18-year-old Nesbitt said recently of the draft. “Just want to focus on my game and do my best to help the team. This will come after the season and stay focused now.”

Nesbitt finished fifth in the season with 25 goals and 64 points in 65 games. That’s 46 points better than his rookie season, and he was named the most progressive player in the Western Conference Coach of the Year Poll.

In its first year of qualifying for the 2024 draft, guard Anthony Cristoforo stood out and beat the final ranking list.

The 19-year-old Cristoforo was named No. 199 in the mid-term rankings. He ranked fifth in the OHL with 61 points in 65 games, fifth in the league, plus 53 points.

Goalkeeper prospect Michael Newlove also slipped off the list. In the mid-term ranking, the six-foot-2-foot-weight, 170-pound Newlove is ranked 27th among North American goalkeepers.

He was appointed as the second-team member of the Ontario Junior Hockey League for the Prospect Team. Newlove averaged 2.86 with a goal of 2.86, with an average score of 20-15-2-2 in total between the Georgetown Raiders and the Burlington Cougars. He also played three games, appeared for Spitfires and saved percentages 2-0 with 2.89 GAA and .904.

However, it should be noted that the NHL clubs are not named in the NHL Central Reconnaissance Agency ranking list.

Robinson won honor

Spitfires defensive player Andrew Robinson was named the Rookie of the Week in OHL.

Robinson was Spitfires’ third round pick in the 2024 OHL Draft, spending most of the season with Georgetown.

However, Robinson signed with Spitfires shortly after the season in Georgetown last month, helping the club play a role due to several injuries on the roster.

The six-foot, 185-pound Robinson scored his first OHL goal in Windsor’s win over Kitchener Rangers.
