The use of sensitive information about taxpayers for a more incurring immigration policy of the Trump administration is alarmed career staff within the IRS.
Section 6103 of the Federal Tax Code requires the IRS to maintain individual taxpayer information with certain limited exceptions, which includes law enforcement authorities for investigating and pursuing criminal laws without tax approval, according to the Agency’s website.
IRS has allowed immigrants without law to file income tax declarations with individual tax numbers or ITIN. These immigrants have contributed $ 25.7 billion in social security taxes using loan or fraudulent social security numbers, according to the bilateral policy center.
IRS and the Ministry of Interior Security did not respond to requests for comment from ABC News on the agreement, which is still negotiated and has not been finalized, according to sources.
