London – Tehran has rejected direct negotiations with the United States on his nuclear program, responding to a letter from President Donald Trump, said Iranian President Masud Pesshki, according to the Islamic Republic of the Agency.
However, he added that the road to indirect negotiations remains open, the State Information Agency reports.
“In this response, although direct negotiations between the two countries have been rejected, it was stated that the road to indirect negotiations was open,” Pzeshki said.

In a cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian said Iran’s response to the US President’s letter was sent through Oman.
He stressed that Iran had never avoided negotiations and accused the United States of failing to fulfill its previous commitments, including the termination of the former nuclear deal in Trump’s first term in 2018.

It was the violation of the commitments that caused problems this time that must be addressed to restore trust, the letter emphasized, according to Pezeshkian.
“These will be the actions of the Americans who determine if the negotiations continue,” he added.
