Horrific scenes as man slashes children with meat cleaver before being shot by police in suburban New York street

Police shot and wounded a man who brutally attacked four young girls with a meat color in Brooklyn.

Police rushed to a home in 84th street at about 10:15 p.m. after an injured 11-year-old girl locked herself in her bedroom and called 911 to report that her uncle had started stabbing her and her siblings, according to the New York Mail.

The girl did not know her address, police said, but officers managed to use the phone number to track her to an address in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.

When the police arrived in minutes – they were let in the house by an uninjacked child.

“At that point, they hear screams from behind the door to the left and immediately forced their way to the apartment and kicked off the door,” NYPD commissioner Jessica Tisch told reporters during a briefing at the scene of the incident.

When police entered the house, they found a man near the entrance with a large, bloody meat color. According to Tisch, they also covered blood on the floor of the house. Police allegedly ordered the man to drop his knife several times, but he allegedly refused and started walking to the officers.

That’s when some police officers shot the man, identified as Lun Chang Chen.

“Two officers fired their firearms and fired seven total rounds between them and struck the subject and ended the threat,” Tisch said.

According to the commissioner, four girls were injured. The girls are between the ages of 16, 13, 11 and eight. All the girls sustained “serious sloping wounds and stab wounds” and were rushed to the Maimonides Medical Center for treatment.

The girls are expected to survive.

“It could have ended very differently,” the commissioner said. She also noted that a five -year -old boy also lived in the house at the time of the attack, but he ran to ask for help immediately after the violence began.

Tisch said Chen’s exact relationship with the family is still determined.

“Right now we know that there were five children, four hurt,” she said. “It is perhaps the father of some of them or the uncle. And again we are going to work through it. And we believe that the mother was out of the house. ‘

New York senator Steven Chan, who represents the district where the incident occurred, said the violence shocked his community.

“I grew up here personally and I know a lot of neighbors here on this block, and I talked to some of them, and everyone was ruined and sad about the events that unfolded here this morning,” Chan said according to ABC 7.

According to the broadcaster, Chen’s family members said the man had struggled with mental illness for some time.

Chen, 49, was also transported to a hospital, where he is in critical condition. It is believed that he lived in the house with the girls.

Police did not reveal a motive in the attack, and the case is still being investigated.
