Hamas says that he has agreed to a proposal by Gaza Cease Fire from the mediators Egypt and Qatar, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeated demands for the group to disarm and that its leaders leave the enclave.
On Saturday, Khalil Al-Hayya, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, said that the group had agreed to a proposal that security sources said that it included the release of five Israeli hostages every week.
But he said that placing his arms as Israel has demanded that it be a “red line” that the group would not cross.
On Sunday, Netanyahu said that his cabinet had agreed to continue pressing Hamas, rejecting the claims that Israel was not negotiating.
“We are carrying it under fire and, therefore, it is also effective,” he said in a video statement.
Hamas’ senior official Sami Abu Zuhri said Netanyahu’s comments were a recipe for the “endless escalation” in the region.
Egypt, Qatar and the United States are trying to negotiate another fire and ensure the release of Israeli hostages that are still held in Gaza.

He stressed that, according to the rules of international humanitarian law, civilians, humanitians and health services must be protected.

Netanyahu supports Trump’s ‘Voluntary Emigration’ Plan
Since Israel resumed his attacks in Gaza on March 18, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and tens of thousands have been forced to evacuate areas in northern Gaza, where they had returned after the agreement of Alto El Fuego in January.
Netanyahu said that Israel demanded that Hamas leave their weapons and said that their leaders would be allowed to leave Gaza.
He did not give details about how long the Israeli troops would remain in the enclave, but he repeated that Hamas’s military and governmental capabilities must be crushed.
“We will ensure general security in the Gaza Strip and allow the implementation of the Trump Plan, the voluntary emigration plan,” he said. “That is the plan, we don’t hide it, we are ready to discuss it at any time.”
Trump originally proposed to transfer the complete population of Gaza to countries, including Egypt and Jordan, and develop the Gaza Strip as a resort owned by the United States.
However, no country has agreed to attract the population, and Israel has said since then that any exit from the Palestinians would be voluntary.
Israel launched his campaign in Gaza after Hamas attacked the Israeli communities on October 7, 2023, killing some 1,200 people.
The ongoing bombing of Israel has killed more than 50,000 Palestinians, according to Palestinian health authorities.
