Glenn Collins: Avalon Australian International Airshow pilot identified as he fights for life

The pilot involved in a tragic accident at the Australian International Airshow Avalon has been identified while remains in the hospital fighting for his life.

Glenn Collins, an experienced and very respected pilot, was flying as part of the Skyace formation acrobatic team when he crashed at speed after not stopping during an acrobatics screen.

In a statement, Paul Bennet Airshows, the group behind the screen, expressed concern and good wishes for Mr. Collins.

“Yesterday there was an accident that involved one of our Sky Aces pilots for a long time during the acrobatic exhibition at the Australian International Airshow Avalon,” the statement said.

“The Bennet family and Paul Bennet’s Airshows team are thinking of Glenn Collins, who remains in the hospital and his family at this time.

“We would like to recognize the extraordinary level of support of medical personnel, as well as the messages of support received from here and worldwide.”

Paul Bennet Airshows confirmed that they would not act in the air exhibition during the rest of the event.
