Freddie Flintoff shared a photo of his healed face before the release of his upcoming Disney+ documentary about his horror accident.
Former cricketer, 46, was involved in an almost fatal incident that left him with significant facial injuries and broken ribs during the filming of the motorcycle riding Top gear in December 2022.
The accident resulted in the BBC suspending the production for the “foreseeable future”, which considers it inappropriate. He received £ 9m in compensation as a result of his injuries.
Flintoff will examine the effects of his accident in the new documentary entitled Roomywhich will premiered in the UK and Ireland on April 25.
Before the release, Disney shared a promotional image with the healed face of Flintoff without a scar in sight.
Flintoff said in the documentary: “Cricket has always been a massive part of my life and form who I am.”
“Looking back at the highs and the lows, including the challenges I’ve faced since my accident, it was a good reminder of the reason my career in the sport meant so much.”
This comes after the cricketer shared a video last year outlining the extent of his facial injuries, showing oblique and scars across his face, including his cheeks, mouth, nose and ears.
Flintoff returned to the screens last year with a BBC series with the title Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams on Tour, in which he opened the accident. He revealed that he is still suffering nightmares, flashbacks and anxiety.
Talk in Field of dreamsHe said, “I don’t want to sit and feel sorry for myself. I don’t want sympathy. I struggle with my anxiety, I have nightmares, I have flashbacks – it was so hard to handle, ‘he said in a trailer for the show.
“But I think if I don’t do anything I’ll never go. I have to go on with it. ‘
Flintoff acknowledged that the after-effects of the accident could follow him “for the rest of my life” and said he believed he was happy to live after sitting the Morgan Super Three Car while filming Top gear.
He said after the accident: ‘It’s going to be a long way back and I just got started and I was struggling and I needed help. I’m really. ‘
He added: ‘I’m not the best to ask for it. I have to stop crying every two minutes. I look forward to seeing the boys and being them. I’m really. ‘
Roomy Will premiere on April 25 exclusively on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
