Air New Zealand says that an item inside a passenger’s hand luggage is to blame for a flight grounded in New Plymouth tonight.
The Blenheim flight to Auckland was diverted to New Plymouth, with a passenger telling RNZ that they could smell fuel entering the air openings inward.
Air New Zealand’s head of flight operations, Hugh Pearce, says he is working to take passengers to his destination.
