Flau’Jae Johnson puts rap and podcasting careers aside during March Madness

For the time being, the Lsu star guard flau’jae Johnson puts her rap career aside. And also the podcasting.

Johnson is about the NCAA tournament and to help the Tigers win another national title.

“I’m not focused on my music, I’m not focused on my podcast, I’m not focused on any of (those) things. I’m focused on winning the national championship,” Johnson said. “Because if I won the national championship, I can focus on everything I want.”

This does not mean that Johnson’s talents outside the court are not seen on March Madness. His rape on a Powerade ad campaign showed regularly in the tournament.

Johnson has been a music star since she appeared on ‘America’s Got Talent’ in 2018 when she advanced to the quarterfinals of the television competition.

She released her first album, ‘Best of Worlds’ last year. She also worked on a song with rapper Lil Wayne.

Johnson said she launched her music career in honor of her father, the late rapper Camoflauge.

Johnson also called a podcast, also “Best or both Worlds”, where she interviews some of the biggest stars of the game – including episodes with USC’s Juju Watkins and Uconn’s Paige Bueckers – and just generally a variety of topics from basketball to boyfriends.

Johnson and the Tigers got NC State 80-73 past the NC State to progress to the Elite Eight for the third year in a row, with top seed UCLA Sunday.

The teams met the NCAA tournament last year, where Bruins head coach Cori Close watched firsthand when Johnson went 7 for 11 from the field and dropped a 24-point, 12-Rebound double double.

As she carefully respected the ability of the guard with a basketball, she also complimented what Johnson’s brand does for the sport.

“Talk about someone who was good for the game. I just admire how she lets go of all the different things she does in life, still let alone on the track, ‘said Close. “I’m a big pioneer – try to grow the game, and I look at her. She does a good job, and I just want to compliment her for it, our game is better for it. ‘

Johnson said she was undisturbed by pressure situations, and returned to her days at “America’s Got Talent”.

“I feel like (with) pressure, you break pipes or make diamonds, and I like diamonds,” Johnson said before her performance on a reunion version of the show in 2023.
