First Black Republican Rep. Mia Love has died

Salt Lake City – The former American reputation Mia Lav from Utah, the daughter of the Haitian immigrants, who became the first black referral chosen in the congress died on Sunday.

She was 49.

The love family publishes news about her death in the love of love.

She had undergone a recent treatment of brain cancer and received immunotherapy as part of a clinical trial at the Duke Brain Tumor Center. Her daughter said earlier this month that the former legislator no longer responds to treatment.

Love died at her home in Saratoga Springs, Utah, according to a statement published by the family.

“With grateful hearts filled to overflow for Mia’s deep influence on our lives, we want to know that she has died calmly,” said her family. “We are thanks for the many good desires, prayers and condolences.”

Utah Governor Spencer Cox pointed to love as a “true friend”.

“Her inheritance from service inspired everyone who knew her,” Cox says in a statement. “We pray for her family and we sorrow with them.”

Love came into politics in 2003 after winning a place in the Saratog Saratoga Saratoga, a growing community about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Salt Lake City. Later, she became mayor of the city.

In 2012, love closely lost an offer for the chamber against the democratic acting, former reporter Jim Mateson, in an area that covers a string of Salt Lake City’s suburbs.

She ran again two years later and defeated the candidate for the first time Doug Owens with about 7,500 votes.

Love did not emphasize her race during her campaigns, but she acknowledged the importance of her election after her win in 2014. She said her victory has denied the Natures, who suggested that the Black, Republican, Mormon woman could not win a place in the congress in an extremely white juta.

She was considered briefly a rising star within GOP, and she kept her distance from Donald Trump, who was unpopular with many Utah voters while he was running for president before the 2016 election.

In 2016, faced with re -election and after the 2005 record, in which Trump made wicked comments about the lush women, love skipped the national convention of the Republican and released a statement that she said she would not vote for Trump. Instead, she approved of Texas Senator Ted Cruz in the GoP race, but he dropped months later.

While looking for a third term in 2018, love tried to separate Trump for trade and immigration, while still supporting his party’s position in terms of tax reduction. Despite the Republican voters who are superior to Democrats with almost three to one in their area, she lost less than 700 votes to former mayor of Salt Lake City Ben McAdams, Democrat.

Trump called the love by the name of a press conference in the morning after she lost, where he also struck other Republicans who did not hug him completely.

“Mia Lav didn’t give me love and she lost,” Trump said. “It’s a pity. I’m sorry for that, Mia.”

After his loss, love serves as a political commentator on CNN and as an associate at the University of Sydney.

After Trump’s election in November, love said it was “good with the result”.

“Yes, Trump says many careless things that are unfortunate and impossible to protect.
