The viewers came to the rescue of a policeman “in a potentially dangerous situation” on the field after finishing a fight on Saturday afternoon.
The policeman was a few hours in her shift when she was called to Lethbridge Street shortly after 2 pm, after reports of a group of people fighting, said the manawatu area commander inspector Ross Grantham.
“She intervened and the situation began to calm down.
“However, the arrival of another aggressive person saw the incident light again, placing the officer in a potentially dangerous position.
“Which started as a very typical difference, involving a handful of people quickly increased.”
With the additional police team a few minutes, the viewers who saw the incident unfolded to help the lone officer.
“I appreciate that members of the Feilding community have entered the scene to provide assistance,” said Grantham.
“We work hard to be there for the community and we are always grateful when they are there for us.”
An 35 -year -old woman and an 18 -year -old woman were arrested and accused of aggression.
They are scheduled to appear at the Palmerston North District Court on Thursday.
An 18 -year -old man was also accused of driving while disqualified. The vehicle he was driving was seized and seized.
He must attend court on April 24.
