A cord is in force around a property and some neighboring properties were evacuated after the threats were made in Christchurs.
Police said in a statement that they were working to ensure a person’s safety.
They said they were called around 10:40 am to a speech in Percival St, Sydenham, after they reported that a person was making threats.
“As a precaution, the police evacuated people of adjacent properties and a cord of approximately 100m is in force around the address of Percival ST.
“People should be clear until the situation can be safely resolved.”
There was no word about the nature of the threats.
