Young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again provided a brisk start but failed to convert it into a substantial innings. However, impressive half-centuries from all-rounders Suryaansh Shedge and Vipraj Nigam helped India A recover from a difficult position and post a respectable total.

Shedge and Vipraj Lead the Fightback

Suryaansh Shedge played a brilliant knock of 72 runs off 66 balls, while Vipraj Nigam contributed a valuable 51 runs from 49 deliveries.

The duo came together when India A were struggling at 143/7 and built a crucial 104-run partnership for the eighth wicket, reviving the innings and frustrating the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Fails to Capitalize on Fast Start

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi looked in good touch early in the innings. He smashed a six and two boundaries against pacer Chamika Gunasekara but was dismissed for 21 runs off 14 balls after being caught at point off the bowling of off-spinner Sahan Arachchige.

Captain Tilak Varma (23) and vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (32) then steadied the innings with a 52-run partnership for the third wicket.

Sri Lankan Spinners Trigger Collapse

India A appeared well-placed at 91/2 before Sri Lanka A's spinners turned the game around. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth trapped Ruturaj Gaikwad leg-before wicket, while Tilak Varma was caught at point off Kugathas Mathulan shortly afterward.

The wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, leaving India A in deep trouble before the lower-order rescue act.

Sri Lanka A Bowlers Shine
