Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning us about the winter-like weather we will experience in the next few days.

“The cold weather returns to Alberta this week,” the statement said. “Winter travel conditions are expected from tonight to Friday in central Alberta.”

They warned that heavy snow would fall in parts of western Alberta, including the Prairie, Whitecourt and Ederson. Snowfall in central Alberta will intensify Thursday morning, while central and southern Alberta will experience frozen rains that may transition to snow in the afternoon.

It is expected to reach up to 25 cm between 5 cm and 20 cm snowfall by Friday morning.

As for the actual forecast, Wednesday will be a mix of sunshine and clouds, with a 60% chance of blowing out waves of waves in the 20 km/h wind, up to 8C. It is expected to be expected overnight until Thursday, with a maximum of 4 cm of snowfall, which will see up to 10 cm of snow, up to 40 km/h and up to 40 km/h.
