My opinion
1. Matthew Savoie had a second cup of coffee in the NHL. There are some conversations online that it is a paper deal that can release the roster of trade deadlines. I haven’t confirmed it yet.
I also saw fans complaining that Savoie never fired, but he played 32 times in 49 five minutes in Leon Draisaitl. He had a brief but significant audition in the second line.

2. Savoie is Edmonton’s top prospect, a hometown boy, and even though he’s only 21 years old, many players have been here for many years. All of this adds up with high expectations and little pressure, but I recommend him acquittal in four games, not enough to lock in the roster, but enough to make me think he will do it next September
3. On the Galley side, Savoie tear off some NHL mass under pressure on the tape. He skated quickly and edgy with a sick will, sometimes surpriseing the bigger players. It seems that he has the skills and strength to play in the NH. He also shows that he knows the way he is around the defensive zone, winning battles most often and covering up his men.
4. On the down side, he couldn’t finish the scoring game, even if he had a few chances. And, he has to rely on it every time on his NHL career because it actually does. If he can improve defensive consistency and find a way to bury his chances, he will stick with it next time, and he will add routine to one of the top 9 squads, even on the wings of Leon Draisaitl or Connor McDavid.
