It’s news that the Edmonton Oilers recalled Noah Philp center due to a large number of injuries suffered by the team.

Bob Stauffer of the Oilers reported: “I’ve seen most vulture games. Phelp scored 4-5-9 in the last 10 gp. He tends to be on the right side of the puck. Don’t cheat on the game. Right shot. Right shot. Improve the standoff.”

My opinion

1. I’m not sure why Phelp hasn’t been with the Oiler for weeks now. Max Jones played a solid first game or two with the Oilers, but he has been ineffective since then. Meanwhile, Philp played solid two-way hockey in 12 games in Edmonton this season.

2. Phelp had only two assists in 12 games, so he didn’t tear the Pea Spots completely. That said, he was responsible for the defense and made some strong games with the puck.

3. If RNH plays wings in the playoffs, despite his recent excellence, Edmonton still needs a fourth-tier center this playoff season. I suggest Phelp outperforms Derek Ryan this year, and I personally prefer the younger and larger centers in the lineup.

4. Persistence, Phelp must dig harder and win more battles harder. He has nothing to lose here. He might as well do it. Like many young players, he was a little temporary in his first NHL game. It’s a better choice for him to go all out and try to play a role in the offense, while still remembering to always put defense first.
