Edmonton police said speed could be a factor in the fatal collision earlier Sunday, in which a car crashed into a tree.

Police said in a press release that the collision occurred around 8 a.m. in the McKennan community near the University of Alberta’s southern campus.

A 30-year-old man reportedly drove on a 2009 Lexus RX350 West at 72 Avenue near 114 Street when the vehicle lost control and hit a tree on the north side of the Avenue. The vehicle rolls and finally rests on its roof.
